Men want their photographs to show all their best qualities, while still remaining mainly. So when you hear ‘library’ you may not initially think ‘great place for manly headshots and a guys’ portrait session in Utah!’ But when you have a beard for the books, you go straight to the library…or at least we did in the case of Zander.
The SLC Library is a beautiful piece of architecture, which can actually provide strong lines and shapes that make an image feel more masculine. Using these subliminal elements helps creating a setting that lets you see a strong man but peer into kind eyes.
The library is, of course, open to the public. However, there are plenty of places where you can feel or be alone without people in your way. Exploring is endless–and if it hadn’t been winter and raining we would have ventured to the roof top as well.
Zander really is an amazing guy: intelligent, kind, open-minded, and strong. I feel his choice in a strong, crisp outfits perfectly complimented his personality and really shows his professionalism with an easy-going attitude.
In his case, we focused less on business headshots and more on lifestyle portraits for a more comfortable relaxed look–rather than the stiff look typical headshots may produce.
Thanks Zander for exploring the SLC Library in Utah with me, and letting me take your portraits and headshots for you during this session!
