Talk about dreamy, Poison Ivy cosplay fun! Makenzie Peacock at Peacock Artistry actually approached me about collaborating on a green, edgy make-up look. We brainstormed some ideas and landed on utilizing it in a Poison Ivy cosplay photoshoot!

After finding Jessica, and arranging dates and times, we finally met up at my house to do hair and make-up. While Makenzie worked on the make-up, I curled Jessica’s hair and we laughed and got to know each other.

I wanted to stick with a black look to help make the green pop, so Jessica bought a lace bodysuit and black, pleather leggings. I prepared by purchasing a shovel, finding a perfect kitchen knife, getting a potion bottle, fake vine geenery, and lastly–creating fake blood!

I had scoped out locations and I found the PERFECT spot–or so I thought. I had planned to go down to Utah Lake to an area with large, green bushes and foliage. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans for us! With rain, wind, and even some lightning, we searched for a new location driving around that had cover. We settled on the tunnel near UVU and McDonald’s in Orem. This area was perfect for an underground, grunge feel.

Despite the bad weather, darker lighting, and a slightly creepy man sitting in the tunnel–things went great! We played with different colors, props, and had a blast.

When I brought the images into post production (Photoshop), I knew I wanted to change her dark, brunette hair to an orange-red to help emulate Poison Ivy. Learning how to change hair color and paint over tiny strands was a beast! But, I am in love with the results from this shoot. What do you guys think?
