I love when I get to take pictures for my family–especially extended family that I don’t get to see very often!
Although across the US by the East Coast, the Phister family had all come out to Utah for Thanksgiving (where my cousin Natalie was going to college) and so finally had a chance to be all together!
I was thrilled when my Aunt approached me about taking their family pictures–and knew Rock Canyon would be secluded, yet pretty enough to get a unique background with the mountains and canyons. It had to be an outdoor location because they don’t have those kind of mountains back where they are from.
I am not going to lie–it was cold! They all coordinated their dress well, but when that wind picked up and with the sky overcast, we were all a bit chilly. Naturally, we had to take breaks to warm up our bodies (and hands).
But amidst the cold, we were able to get several family pictures, individual pictures, and some great funny shots (I definitely know what side of the family my sense of humor comes from)! And with the quick spot of sun that we got, we had to get some dramatic story shots of the boys.
One of the best parts of this shoot, was the photo-bombing dog that just ran into our pictures. I think those are some of my favorite pictures because they are so authentic and so funny!
But seriously, what a nice, funny, good-looking family (don’t mix up those last two adjectives haha).
